ENVIRONMENT
While
restoration and preservation of the environment are high priorities for us, we
don't believe that means we need to live in straw huts, wearing mud, and eating
moss. When the resources are allocated to the people who can best utilize them
for the benefit of everyone, nearly anything is possible. We will constantly strive
for new technologies and the refining of established ideas to have the least negative
environmental impact as possible. The environment's health is directly related
to our health. Besides the uncertainties of global warming's effects, the chemicals
we put into the environment make their way into us. Cancer, respiratory problems,
immunodeficiency issues, obesity, and a host of other problems can find many of
their roots in our careless production and disposal practices. Our priority is
to preserve and improve our way of life, replacing bad practices with better ones
as soon as they are perfected without the interference of rich lobbies that presently
kill or emasculate bills, create loopholes such as pollution credits, or job loss
concerns for people who fail to evolve with a changing society. Everyone who wants
to work will have a job. Even with our present, nearly broken, system, good environmental
practices may cause job losses in one area, but tend to create even more in others.
Those whose jobs are lost will be retrained for new ones that best utilize their
abilities and prior experiences. skappotis@gmail.com |
